2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 Brembo Brakes Overhaul

Cartisan recently carried out a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 brakes replacement in Chennai. The customer had requested an inspection because the brakes warning light was glowing in the dash of his car.

The Cartisan team arrived at the customer’s location to carry out an inspection. The wheels were removed and checked and it was identified that the brake pads and in addition brake disc rotors were worn out and therefore needed replacement.

A quote was given to the customer for the following items –

  • Front & Rear Brake Pads by Brembo
  • Front & Rear Brake Rotors by Brembo
  • Brake Wear Sensor

(You can read more about Brembo braking components here)

The customer approved and the car was picked up and taken to the closest Cartisan Preferred Workshop to carry out the service.

W204 Brakes Replacement process

First of all the car was raised up with the help of a hydraulic jack and the front right wheel was removed. The brake caliper was disconnected from the brake rotor and unmounted from it. The brake pads inside it were removed. Then, the brake rotors were unscrewed and unmounted from the wheel hub.

Next a brand new brake rotor from Brembo was mounted onto the hub and screwed into place. The brake caliper was then mounted onto the new brake rotor and brand new Brembo brake pads were fitted to the caliper. Also the front left set of brake pads are fitted with a brake wear sensor which is connected to the sensor circuit on the chassis of the car.

The process was repeated for all the other wheels. Finally the car was then lowered to the ground and taken for a test drive to confirm that the work was carried out successfully.
